Learning is a skill. Students who earn good grades are not necessarily smarter, they just have good learning skills. All schools teach course material but very few teach how to learn. How is a student supposed to develop learning skills, if nobody explains what they are?

This book explains how to be an effective student. It uses straightforward language and the techniques are easy to implement. The concepts are not difficult--the entire book is only 3/8 inches thick!

And it works. Most students see dramatic improvements immediately, and the benefits go beyond grades. Stress is reduced, self-image improves and confidence increases.

Good grades lead to opportunities, which lead to better income and a better life. School is supposed to prepare you for life -- it should not be your life. Grades=Money can turn you into a great student, and make it possible to learn in less time, so you have time to do other things.

Grades equal money. This book prepares you to earn both. Start now.

This book was an excellent read. I didn't know that I was following a learning methodology. I used these techniques in fear that I was always the most likely to fail and that the only way I could keep up in class was to do all of these things. Dr. Kezirian also touches on topics that I don't believe people normally associate with or give much emphasis to in the learning process, that is the importance of good "academic" friends and also the proper approach to interacting with a teacher.

I read the book in one night. It was a pretty quick read but with a proven approach that should be helpful to most learners.

The only question I would ask is whether the book is directed to the right audience. Personally, I believe that good learning styles are generally developed before the seventh grade. I state that from my own family experience growing up and seeing some smart kids go wayward due to social evolutionary challenges kids go through during the middle-school and early high school years. I believe that the content presented should instead be a program for pre-high school students so that these habits can be developed before the children change physiologically, sociologically and behaviorally. It is just my opinion but I believe it is generally too late to change life-long habits beyond that point. There are always exceptions to the rule but I believe my opinion holds some ground. So with that said, excellent book but I would direct the content in a different fashion to a younger audience proposing that there be checkpoints during the remaining youth years to ensure that habits are reinforced. It sounds communistic but that is not my intention.

The author has presented the material in a simple and coherent manner that students who may be struggling with their grades will be able to pick up this book and make a big difference to their lives in a short amount of time.
This book is a great read. It has been structured in a way to capture the reader's attention (especially kids) and to hold it. It will help motivate kids to be active listeners, and in the process not just raise their grades but put in place the mechanics to be successful in the field that they are passionate.
I purchased this book because I have a family member struggling in middle school who isn't able to see the connection between school and success in later life. I think the beginning of the book does a great job making that connection in a way most teenagers should be able to understand. Once that link is made, it provides specific, implementable strategies for obtaining good grades. I think both teenagers and their parents would benefit from reading this book.
Well, I am an accomplished physician and nobody taught "how" to study. Regardless I succeed and I did by learning to learn by myself over the years. Now I am finding that it would have been a lot easier if I had read this book 20 years ago. People teach what to study and not how to study, effectively and with proven results. And by the way, nobody is ever done learning, so I strongly believe that this book can teach interesting lessons to many of us, older guys who need neuroplasticty. I read it, enjoyed it, and learned how I will study for my next challenges. This book should be made available to all schools and promoted highly. Thanks to Dr. G. Kezirian for his efforts in making the world better.
Dr. Kezirian has put together a compelling book that is easy for teens to comprehend. He accurately points out that kids who don't think money is a big deal have this belief because they have never had to support themselves. In a way that is neither demanding nor demeaning, the book helps kids understand how important today's grades are to tomorrow's success.

One of our kids is reading it and I think it's helping get across the message in a way that supports what we've doing as parents.

I recommend this to any parent who knows their teenager can do better and needs both motivation as well as a set of tools and techniques. It's far more effective than parental nagging and micro-managing.
My son and Imhave both read Grades = Money and its been a valuable read for each of us. It really helped me to articulate and help him formulate a plan of action for his high school years. Too often I'd be trying to convy the importance of his work. But not connecting well. This book gave us a frame work and inspiration to work on these issues in a more meaning full way.

I have recommended this book to friends with kids the same age. They have been just as enthusiastic about it.

It is a uniquely well written book and does a great job of installing in kids the import pant implications of their work. Further it gives them the tools to achieve them.
Skills are what matter in every aspect of life. If you were a weak soccer player, you would work on your skills. You would not expect to succeed at soccer by taking a pill or critiquing your coach. This book offers students a way to build skills that will help them meet their needs throughout life. The focus on money might trigger someone who thinks education should be motivated by "higher values." But when that motivation hasn't worked, an alternative must be available. This book provides the alternative. As a college professor and a parent, I think it is a great tool for any student.
